This festive season, The London EDITION unveils its annual Christmas tree, designed by renowned fashion designer Ashish Gupta.

Known for his vibrant and culturally rich creations, Gupta’s tree will be on display until the New Year, having been unveiled on November 20th. Drawing inspiration from his childhood memories in India, where he would assemble an old tinsel tree inherited from his aunt, Gupta merges cultural influences to create a unique, joyful tribute to the festive spirit.

With a playful nod to the ubiquitous use of tinsel in India, where it adorns everything from tea stalls to trucks, Gupta’s design brings a kaleidoscope of colours and textures to The London EDITION, using tinsel that he has collected over the years. Gupta’s love for illuminated cities at night also informs the tree’s design. Reminiscent of a past runway show where the ceiling was draped in hundreds of fairy lights, the tree will sparkle with an array of decorative lights—chilis, bunches of grapes, and stars—creating an atmosphere that reflects the vibrancy of urban life.
